Org Chart Setup

Employee list offers several ways to set up and show your org charts.

Org Chart Options

Manager/Department
Manager/Group
Manager Only

What is required:

All of your users need to have the manager field filled out.  That is the basis for the org chart relationships.

The other options just determine how detailed you want to get.

Manager Only: This will show all your users on the same org chart and is good for smaller organizations.

Manager/Department:  The department field is set for each of the users.  The list is based on all of the Google groups you have.  If you select this option, the users will only show up in the one department they have selected.

Manager/Group: If you select this option, the same users can show up in multiple group org charts.  It is determined by their group membership in your organization.  For Example you might have a user that is the director of marketing.  They will show up in the Marketing org chart, but they are also in the Management group.  So they and all the managers will also show up in that org chart.

As you can see below, this is a screen shot of Phyllis Boyle's profile edit screen.  She has Michel Duval as her manager.

In relation to the org chart, this will put Phyllis below Michel.  If there are multiple people with Michel as their manager, they would all appear below Michel. See below for a screen shot of the visual relationship.
