Org Charts in Google Sites

Org Charts in Google Sites
swamp

Over the weekend we rolled out a new feature, the ability to embed Employee List Organization Charts into Google Sites.  We know a lot of companies use Google Sites as their intranet.  So the ability to add the Org Charts to it will add more stickiness to your intranet and keep people coming back.

To embed an Org Chart, go into the Settings then Org Chart Setting.  The first thing you need to do is check off the box to allow public org chart embedding.  Once you have done that, click on the link that says “Get the Links”.  This will bring you to the page of links you need to embed.

Open a new tab to your Google Site and create a new page for an Org Chart.  Once you have created it and are in the edit mode, select “Insert” from the top menu and then select “more gadgets…”.  Select the gadget called “Include Gadget” and edit the gadget.  Copy the URL of the Org Chart you want to include from Employee List and paste it into the gadget where is says “URL to content”.  Then switch the width to 100 and change the select box that says pixels to percent.  Select OK and you should be done.

We hope you enjoy the new feature.
